MEDICINE WOMAN NOW SHOWING ON EQUATOR HD IN USA AND VISION TV IN CANADA

The 13 part international documentary series has completed filming in Canada, Ireland, Wales, Namibia, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Guatemala, Arizon and Saskatchewan. The series is on-air in the USA and Canada in 2007.

Hosted by Dr Daniele Behn, a young Canadian First Nations doctor, the documentary follows her personal quest across six continents to learn the ancient secrets of the natural world that will help combat the modern diseases afflicting her people.

‘This is Daniele’s search for natural healing substances and the wisdom, long thought forgotten, of shamans, herbalists, yogis, folk healers and mystics we get to meet the healers, medicine men and women, and indigenous elders who keep these secrets,’ said creator and producer Norm Wilkinson.

‘Daniele has a strong conviction that modern conventional medicine and natural therapies passed down over thousands of years can complement each other in a true holistic approach to the future of healing.’

‘The series is a race against time because many of the world’s plant species known by indigenous peoples to have medicinal healing powers are being driven to extinction or near extinction, especially in the world’s forests,’ Norm Wilkinson said.

Her journey takes her from the fringes of the Arctic Circle to the ancient homelands of the Incas and Mayans, to lost valleys in Asia, South Pacific islands, the jungles of South America and to the grasslands and deserts of Africa.
