SIMON WILLOCK - International Consultant

With nearly three decades in television distribution, rights management and independent production, Simon Willock set up SWIFT in 2005 in response to the new opportunities for British Independents as a result of the 2004 Communications Act.

Up to 1999 Simon had been MD of Britain’s largest independent distributor Primetime TV Associates, until it was acquired by the Australian Southern Star Group.

He was then appointed to establish Southern Star as both a major factual distributor through acquisitions and JV’s with third party producers and also to build the groups in-house production output through a recent acquisition of Oxford Scientific Films.

SWIFT works closely with a select group of independants from the UK and abroad developing international programme ideas, securing commissions and co-production finance and thereafter maximising future revenue potential from distribution.

A combination of sales experience as a distributor and co-production executive and latterly running a successful production company has given Simon a combination of skills and world-wide contacts uniquely adapted to work with producers in the post-communications act world where independants are now able to retain and control exploitation of their programming globally.
